At The Gunn Firm we focus our expertise on contested divorce cases. Our goal is to guide you through the process and work together with you to pursue the best possible outcome. We have the skills and experience to offer guidance on all issues related to your divorce. During this difficult time we will work together with you to ensure your best interests are protected and help you focus on the future.
When you call to schedule a consultation at The Gunn Firm, we will ask a few initial questions to ensure we understand how we can help you during your upcoming consultation, and we will gather more information from you when we meet with you in person. You do not need to bring detailed documents with you for your initial consultation. We will listen to your concerns and develop an initial understanding of your situation at your first meeting. As we gather more information we will be able to identify the types of documentation you can gather and what we will request from your spouse and from third parties (banks, financial institutions, child care-givers etc) to help us move your case forward.
Once you retain us we will start to work on your case immediately. We will provide you with detailed information regarding the approach we believe your particular case is likely to take and what our next steps will be. We will also provide you with a Client Notebook that has information and forms that can be useful for you and some initial "what happens next" timelines for your case. You can use this notebook to document the items that are important to you about your case and assist us in ensuring we are clear on the details surrounding your individual situation. We will review the information with you to answer any questions you may have. This notebook will be a valuable source of information you can use to help us move forward effectively and quickly on your case. We will complete the required paperwork that the court needs to begin the case. We will also review the steps that you should anticipate during the proceedings and continue to answer questions for you about mediation, trial, possible settlement opportunities, and potential witnesses if they will be needed in your case. We will discuss with you what litigation approach is best tailored to your case to provide the most beneficial result for you.
